Today I ran on the treadmill for two miles while listening to Eminem and realized it’s time to clear the cobwebs from my mind.

When I started this blog, it was not my intention to become a blogger, but rather build some momentum around my writing and get some motivation.

Now, I sit here ready to scream…fuck-it.

Not about writing a second novel or publishing the first, but worrying about what everyone thinks of me and my process in accomplishing my goals.

I’m done being who I once was to everyone else and trying to live up to the expectations of who I dreamed of becoming. I will not be torn between these two worlds. It’s depressing and exhausting.

If I wake up and want to write a crappy poem – so be it.

If I decide to stay up until midnight writing a rant full of typos and passive sentences—so be it.

If I want to doodle on a piece of paper—so be it.

I’m not trying to impress anyone here. You’re just here because you decided to be or stumbled upon me. I don’t care about your opinion, your views, or how many people follow you on Facebook.

We all need a space to be ourselves. This is where I have chosen to be myself. I may post every day, once a month or delete everything and come back as someone new.

If you learn anything from me I hope it’s this: Your thoughts are your only freedom so embrace them, protect them, and respect them.
