When you look back on your life what do you want to remember, the days you spent cleaning your basement or being spontaneous with a good friend? Sure, we all need a clean basement, but in reality, we can clean for the rest of our lives and just as easily take for granted the valuable people around us.

We are so wrapped up in our daily routines that we forget what it’s like to truly connect with others. Now this can go both ways, for all you socialites, you might need to take a cleaning day, but for the most part, this is about bonding with other like-minded individuals.

There are days when we all feel broken and need someone to help us sweep the shards of discontent into a dustpan.

Do not let time distance you from the people that make you smile, make you feel grounded, and those who hold out a hand when you fall down (even if they do laugh).

Today was an amazing day because I shared it with someone who inspires me to be the writer I believe I am instead of allowing me to wallow in my splintering pity.

We took turns being the dustpan and like any sane artist, have decided that broken is way cool.
